By accessing or using MentorMate ("the Platform"), operated by MentorMate Pty Ltd (ABN pending), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
MentorMate is a professional mentorship marketplace connecting mentors with mentees for paid 1:1 sessions. We facilitate introductions and payments but are not a party to the mentoring relationship.
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Australia to use the Platform. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.
Mentors agree to: provide accurate professional information; honour confirmed bookings; deliver sessions professionally; comply with all applicable Australian laws including tax obligations (GST, income reporting).
Mentees agree to: attend booked sessions on time; provide respectful communication; make payments through the Platform's payment system; not attempt to circumvent Platform fees.
All payments are processed through Stripe in Australian Dollars (AUD). The Platform charges a variable platform fee on each paid session; the percentage depends on the mentor's subscription tier and is disclosed before you pay. The mentor receives the session price less that fee. Subscription plans may include tools, limits, or benefits as described on the Pricing page — they do not make individual mentor sessions "free" unless explicitly stated for a specific promotion.
Refunds for sessions that do not occur due to mentor cancellation or mentor no-show are handled in line with our cancellation policy and Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
Sessions may be cancelled up to 24 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a 50% fee. No-shows by mentees are non-refundable. See also our plain-language summary on Trust & safety.
All Platform content, design, and technology are owned by MentorMate Pty Ltd. Users retain ownership of content they create on the Platform (profiles, messages, reviews).
MentorMate is not liable for the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of mentoring sessions. We provide the platform; the mentoring relationship is between mentor and mentee. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific session in question.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or behave inappropriately. Users may delete their accounts at any time through the Platform settings.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
